12 Device and error messages
12.1 General information about error messages
Besides the items shown on the device's display, further messages are also shown directly in VistaSoft. VistaSoft also keeps a very detailed
log of the entire device communication and acquisition process. Certain hardware-related errors can be identified using this log.
The log files are storred in the following directory: C:\ProgramData\Duerr\VistaSoft\DiagnosticLogs. Device-related messages are found in
the file logfile.log.
It is difficult for operators to evaluate the complex log files on their own. For analysis assistance, we recommend creating a support file and
sending it to Dürr Dental Service (support@duerrdental.com). This file compiles all of the log files and configuration settings into a single
archive (in VistaSoft 2.3 and higher this file is encrypted). The support file can be generated within VistaSoft as follows:

Depending on the problem at hand, it may be helpful to create a support file on the server as well.
Note
A report can be found in the VistaSoft device settings. This report contains information about the device.
