ENHANCED FEATURE SET APPLICATIONS
ABOUT THE ENHANCED OPTION
Important: Compatible support applications software and peripheral equipment are required to
use FleetSync Enhanced Features.
The FleetSync Enhanced Option uses a serial data interface (for PC control) to permit
communication between the 80-Series base radio and base station dispatch equipment (e.g., CAD
computers and/or consoles). Similarly, the same interface applies between the vehicle's 80-Series
mobile and vehicular peripheral equipment (e.g., mobile data terminals, status messaging units, or
mobile computer). Both base and mobile equipment must have FleetSync-compatible applic ation
software installed for the enhanced option to work.
Note: For short message decode only, peripheral support is not required.
For FleetSync enhanced operation, the PC control connection requires the following
modifications and added hardware to each Kenwood 80-Series mobile radio:
o L-875 Install FleetSync Enhanced options in 80 series Mobile.
o L-918 Install Internal KCT-31 PC Interface Cable.
KCT-31 is used when connecting a 80 Series Mobile Radio to a PC for
Short/Long Text Messaging and PC Control. FleetSync™ Enhanced Option must
be installed in the radio to take advantage of these features.
Note: For short message decode only, peripheral support is not required.
(KGP46 can be used on COM 0 if no local Mic is required).

The FleetSync Enhanced Option can be enabled at Kenwood or can be retrofitted in the field.
