Notes on Dolby Digital, DTS and MPEG DOLBY DIGITAL 5.1CH Dolby Digital is the three-dimensional sound effect technology through digital signal processing of the next generation, developed by Dolby Laboratories, and provides the sound completely split by six channels. Six channels in Dolby Digital are called as 5.1-channel, of which 5 means the front L/R, center and rear L/R channels. -
