DEVICE OVERVIEW

DEVICE OVERVIEW
The appearance of your appliance may vary from the illustration above.

This appliance is intended for household use only.
® flat irons are designed for safety and performance. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF

Your appliance has an Automatic Shut-off feature. Should you forget to turn off the styling iron, it will automatically shut off after an hour.

PLATE-LOCKING SWITCH

For easier storage, the plates of the flat iron can be locked together. To engage the locking switch, first turn the appliance off and unplug it. Push the switch where the lock symbol () appears backward while pressing the handles together to lock the plates. To unlock the plates, push the switch with the unlock symbol ().

DO NOT engage the plate-locking switch during styling, and DO NOT lock the plates onto hair, as serious damage to hair or even injury could result.

MULTIPLE HEAT SETTINGS

Designed to be customized to all hair textures. Use low heat settings for fine, thin and damaged hair. Use the high settings for thick, coarse, resistant hair.

CERAMIC COATING

Ceramic Coating helps reduce damage from over-styling with even heat distribution that penetrates hair quickly and styles from the inside out.

STYLING TIPS

  • Hair should be clean and dried completely before using any styling tool.
  • Plug the flat iron into an electrical outlet and slide the Heat Control Switch to the desired setting. The "On" Indicator Light will illuminate.
  • Allow the appliance at least 30 seconds' heating time.
  • Separate a 2-inch section of hair, gently place hair between the smoothing plates and clamp the flat iron down firmly on the hair. You will achieve professional results if you work from the scalp to the ends of your hair.
  • Once flat iron is heated, carefully slide it along the isolated section, making sure the hair is heated and straightened all the way to the ends. The ends will probably require less heat than the hair that grows closer to the scalp.
  • For best results, hold ends of hair while smoothing the hair section.
  • To remove hair from the flat iron, simply release pressure and allow the hair to gently slip out from the smoothing plates.
  • The smoothing process does not require overlapping; separate each section of hair and work on it as indicated above.
  • Allow hair to cool before combing or brushing.
  • Repeat the process until you have achieved the look you desire.
  • When styling is complete, slide the switch to the "Off" position and unplug the appliance.

Plates reach very high temperatures, and area surrounding plates may also be hot. Do not touch hot surfaces of the appliance. Hold straightener only by the handle and Cool Tip.

The high-performance heater in this unit contains an oil-based protective coating that will burn off during the first few minutes of initial use and may emit smoke and/or an odor. You may also hear a humming noise during use. This is normal and is not a cause for concern.

USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
