1A-4 Chapter 1A DASHBOARD STEERInG AnD HoRn TILT/REACH STEERInG Move the lock lever downwards to adjust the height and reach of the steering wheel. Push the lock lever upwards to set the adjustment, ensuring the lever clicks into position. Before driving, jiggle the steering wheel to ensure it has locked securely.

Tachometer The tachometer indicates engine speed in revolutions per minute (rpm). Odometer/tripmeter The small window in the instrument cluster is used for the odometer, clock tripmeter.

Have service work performed within a week or 500 km. Contact your Holden Dealer. When InSP2 appears in the trip odometer display with the ignition switched on, this indicates that an exterior lamp bulb has failed.
Holden Dealer as soon as possible. However, if the light flashes while driving, reduce speed until the light stops flashing and take the vehicle to a Holden Dealer as soon as possible. Engine cooling If it illuminates when driving, a fault has occurred in the engine cooling system or the air conditioning system.

Anti-lock Brake System (ABS). The brake system remains operational but without ABS assistance. Refer to Anti-lock brake system in chapter 4. Consult your Holden Dealer as soon as possible.

If it does not extinguish or if it illuminates when driving, there is a defect in the airbag/seat belt pretensioner system and they may not function correctly, especially in an accident. Consult your Holden Dealer as soon as possible. Seat belt The seat belt warning light flashes when the ignition is switched on unless/until the driver’s seat belt is engaged.

Under reasonable conditions, it should not be necessary to open the windows at any time. Outside air is drawn into the vehicle through the exterior opening in front of the windscreen.

The selected temperature is maintained. For reasons of comfort, temperature can only be changed in small increments. There is no temperature control for settings below 17 °C (all the way left) or above 27 °C (all the way right).

To ensure a constant and comfortable climate in the vehicle, the temperature of the inflowing air, the airflow rate and the air distribution are changed automatically according to climatic conditions outside the vehicle.

6. Brake Pad The front disc brake pads are worn down to the minimum thickness. Consult your Holden Dealer to have the brake pads replaced. Wash Fluid The windscreen washer fluid level is too low. Top up the washer Level check fluid.
1A-49 Chapter 1A DASHBOARD BonnET RELEASE The bonnet release is located below the dashboard on the driver’s side. From inside the vehicle, pull the bonnet release lever towards you. This allows the bonnet to release but the safety catch prevents it from opening. To open the bonnet completely, lift the safety catch upwards.
1A-50 Chapter 1A DASHBOARD CRUISE ConTRoL The cruise control maintains the vehicle’s speed without the driver having their foot on the accelerator pedal and operates at speeds over 30 km/h. For safety reasons, the cruise control cannot be activated until the foot brake has been operated at least once.

Note • Have the vehicle serviced by your Holden Dealer after the anti-roll bars have been deployed. • The roof cannot be closed or opened if the anti-roll bars are extended. The anti-roll bars must first be retracted.

Note With this type of sealed, pressurised cooling system there should be very little loss of coolant. If the surge tank is low, there may be a leak. Consult your Holden Dealer as soon as possible to fix the leak.

Chapter 7 WEEKLY CHECKS mISCELLAnEoUS CHECKS As well as having your vehicle serviced, there are a few simple weekly checks that ensure the vehicle is kept in good condition. These are shown on the following pages. The following checks should also be regularly done to ensure proper safety and dependability of your vehicle.

Power steering fluid level The fluid level for power steering is checked when you take your vehicle to a Holden Dealer for servicing. Refer to the Service/warranty booklet. The power steering fluid level does not require checking by the driver in between these scheduled services.
To fill the reservoir, open the flip-top cap. For a crystal clear windscreen, use a small amount of cleaning fluid obtained from your Holden Dealer. Refer to Exterior cleaning in chapter 10. Do not use ordinary soap or detergent as these not only froth up but will damage the wiper rubbers.

Should dirt accumulate and become embedded in the material pattern, do the following: 1. Using lukewarm water and soap (or Holden Velour Fabric and Vinyl Cleaner), work up thick suds on a piece of cheesecloth and apply to the surface. Use a soft bristle brush to remove stubborn stains or dirt embedded in the grain of the material.

Do not bleach or dye seat belts as this can severely weaken them. Cleaning interior glass Clean the interior glass area of the vehicle with Holden Glass Cleaner and a clean soft cloth. Take care not to damage the demister when cleaning inside the rear window.

Conditions include: Road bloom: Oils, dirt, exhaust and other pollutants may combine to affect the paint finish if they are allowed to build up over a long period of time.

Applying the brakes lightly will indicate whether they have been affected. To dry them quickly, lightly apply the brakes while maintaining a slow forward speed with a clear area ahead, until brake performance returns to normal.

Commercial bitumen and rubber materials can damage PVC coating. Have all work on the underbody performed by a Holden Retailer, as it requires knowledge of the specified materials and experience concerning their application. Wash the underbody following the end of the cold weather season to remove any dirt adhering to the underbody, since this may also contain salt.

Use Holden Glass Cleaner and wash each section of the glass in turn, making sure that the water, its container and the sponge are clean and free from grit. Old linen cloth is better than new material for polishing glass.
