    Due to the increased density of semiconductors used in recent Dell products, the sensitivity to static damage is now higher than in previous Dell products. For this reason, some previously approved methods of handling parts are no longer applicable.

    It is recommended that all field service technicians use the traditional wired ESD grounding wrist strap and protective anti-static mat at all times when servicing Dell products. In addition, it is critical that technicians keep sensitive parts separate from all insulator parts while performing service and that they use anti-static bags for transporting sensitive components.

    Steps Locate the display cable, touchscreen cable and display hinges on your computer. Peel back the tape and disconnect the touchscreen cable. Open the latch and disconnect the display cable from the system board.

    Steps Place the display assembly on a clean and flat surface. Align and place the palm-rest and keyboard assembly on the display assembly. Using the alignment posts, close the display hinges. Connect the display cable to the system board and adhere the tape to secure the display cable. Place the EDP metal bracket on the display cable connector.

    Steps Use a plastic scribe to pry open the bottom edge of the display bezel beginning from the recesses near the hinges.
