EVACUATING IN CASE OF FIRE
If a fire breaks out, evacuate the rigid dump truck in
the following way:
• Lower the body to the chassis.
• Set parking brake.
• Stop the engine by turning the key switch to the
OFF position.
• Exit and get away from the rigid dump truck.
Take a hand portable extinguisher along if one is
available, if you can.
• Activate fire suppression system, if equipped.
• Call for help
• Stand by with the hand portable extinguisher and
use it if possible.
BEWARE OF EXHAUST FUMES
Prevent asphyxiation. Engine exhaust fumes can cause
sickness or death.
• Stand away from the rear exhaust area when the
engine is running.
• If you must operate in a building, be sure there is
adequate ventilation. Either use an exhaust pipe
extension to remove the exhaust fumes or open doors
and windows to bring enough outside air into the
area.
• Ventilation must be adequate for underground
operation
• Diesel engine exhaust and some of its constituents
are known to the State of California to cause cancer,
birth defects and other reproductive harm.
