Avoid contact with the hot computer. During operation, the computer becomes hot enough to burn the skin.
Before you touch the computer, turn off the computer, disconnect power, and wait approximately 30 minutes
for the computer to cool.
For access, do the following:
1. Remove any media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and the computer.
2. Disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables from the computer.
3. Remove the bottom cover. See "Bottom cover" on page 38.
Replacement steps
Note: Pay attention not to get the backup washer under the Wi-Fi card lost.
Notes:
• A thermal pad might be adhered to the bottom of the failing Wi-Fi card. Attach a thermal pad to the
bottom of the new Wi-Fi card if you have removed one.
• Ensure that you connect the gray cable to the connector labeled 1 (auxiliary) and the black cable to
connector labeled 2 (main) on the card.
