If the replacement is complete, put
down the wiper arm to place it on the
rear windscreen, and turn the vehicle
ignition to ON and operate the wipers
to check the blade is installed cor-
rectly.
5. Make sure the blade assembly is
installed firmly by trying to pull it
slightly.
To prevent damage to the wiper arms or
other components, have the wiper blade
replaced by a professional workshop.
Kia recommends to visit an authorised
Kia dealer/service partner.
CAUTION
If the wiper arm receives too much force
whilst pulling the blade, the centre part
may be damaged.
CAUTION
僅 The wiper could not operate for
approx. 10 seconds when the wiper is
operated without washer fluid or the
blades are frozen. This is not a mal-
function, it is a wiper protection sys-
tem activated by motor overload
circuit within the wiper motor.
僅 The front windscreen should be
cleaned with water hose and wiped
with clean towel with wiper blades
raised up. Also, the wiper blades
should be wiped clean when the
grease or wax is applied to the blades.

僅 Keep the battery securely mounted.
僅 Keep the battery top clean and dry.
僅 Keep the terminals and connections
clean, tight, and coated with petro-
leum jelly or terminal grease.
僅 Rinse any spilled electrolyte from the
battery immediately with a solution of
water and baking soda.
僅 If the vehicle is not going to be used
for an extended time, disconnect the
battery cables.
NOTICE
Basically equipped battery is mainte-
nance free type. If your vehicle is
equipped with the battery marked with
LOWER and UPPER on the side, you can
check the electrolyte level. The electro-
lyte level should be between LOWER
and UPPER. If the electrolyte level is low,
it needs to add distilled (demineralized)
water (Never add sulfuric acid or other
electrolyte). When refill, be careful not to
splash the battery and adjacent compo-
nents. And do not overfill the battery
cells. It can cause corrosion on other
parts. Make sure that the cell caps are
tightened.
