Expansion Modules Maintenance and Service Guide Abstract This guide is for use by technicians experienced in servicing the HPE Synergy Gen10 Multi-MXM and PCIe expansion modules. This guide provides details for servicing, installing, removing, and troubleshooting issues of related components.

Removing and replacing an SFF flash adapter CAUTION: Removing the SFF Flash Adapter also removes two uFF drives and might cause one or more logical drives to fail. Procedure 1. CAUTION: • To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, always install DIMMs of the same height in the graphics expansion module.
Removing and replacing an NVDIMM CAUTION: Do not remove an NVDIMM when any LEDs on any NVDIMM in the system are illuminated. Removing an NVDIMM when an LED is illuminated might cause a loss of data. CAUTION: Electrostatic discharge can damage electronic components. Be sure you are properly grounded before beginning this procedure.

Removing and replacing the system battery If the graphics expansion module no longer automatically displays the correct date and time, then replace the battery that provides power to the real-time clock. Under normal use, battery life is 5 to 10 years. WARNING: The computer contains an internal lithium manganese dioxide, a vanadium pentoxide, or an alkaline battery pack.

13. Remove the HPE Persistent Memory modules installed on the system board (Removing and replacing a DCPMM). Be sure to note the DIMM slot locations in which each HPE Persistent Memory module is installed. These components must be installed in the same locations on the new system board.
NOTE: Be sure to remove the heatsink dust cover from the new system board, and install it on the replaced system board. 2. Install all components removed from the failed system board. Be sure to install the DIMM and HPE Persistent Memory modules in the same DIMM slots as the failed system board. 3. Install the access panel.
The procedure is complete. Unassigning a server profile using HPE OneView Procedure 1. From the HPE OneView main menu, select Server Profiles. 2. In the master profile, select the profile to unassign. 3. Select Actions > Edit. 4. In the Server hardware box, select unassigned.
Migrating a processor heatsink assembly to a replacement system board Prerequisites Before performing this procedure, Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends identifying the processor heatsink assembly components. Procedure Observe the following alerts. CAUTION: When handling the heatsink, always hold it along the top and bottom of the fins. Holding it from the sides can damage the fins.

Removing the access panel HPE Trusted Platform Module 2.0 Gen10 Option The HPE Trusted Platform Module 2.0 Gen10 Option is not a customer-removable part. CAUTION: If the TPM is removed from the original graphics expansion module and powered up on a different graphics expansion module, data stored in the TPM including keys will be erased.

This USB storage device contains a dual-microSD card module that supports up to two SD, SDHC, or SDXC storage cards providing data redundancy through a mirrored RAID-1 configuration. This USB storage device connects to an internal USB connector and is configured upon boot. To locate the internal USB connector, see "System board components."...

DIMM slot locations DIMM slots are numbered sequentially (1 through 12) for each processor.
