Select "STEREO" in step 1.
T o c a nc e l LP St a m p func t ion
"LP:" (LP Stamp) is automatically added at the
beginning of a track name during a long time
recording.
"LP:" appears when you try to play the MD on a
system that does not support MD LP mode.
If you want to cancel this function, do the
following precedure:
1 Press FUNCTION repeatedly until "MD"
appears in the display.
2 Press MODE SELECT repeatedly to select "Set
Up Mode", then press PUSH ENTER.
3 Move the multi stick toward b or B repeatedly
to select "MD Set Up ?", then press PUSH
ENTER.
4 Move the multi stick toward b or B repeatedly
to select "MD Edit ?", then press PUSH
ENTER.
5 Move the multi stick toward b or B repeatedly
to select "REC Setup ?", then press PUSH
ENTER.
Move the multi stick toward b or B repeatedly
to select "LP Stamp On (or Off)", then press
PUSH ENTER.
6 Move the multi stick toward b or B repeatedly
to select "LP Stamp Off", then press PUSH
ENTER.

• MDs recorded in MD LP (LP2 or LP4) mode
should be played back on a system that supports
MD LP mode. These MDs cannot be played back
on other systems.
• Even if you press MD REC MODE during
recording or recording pause, you cannot change
the recording mode.
• Even if you press MD REC MODE repeatedly to
select "MONO", the monitor signal during
recording does not become monaural.

The Smart Space function is factory set on.
The Smart Space function automatically makes
3 seconds of blank space between tracks while
making a digital recording from a CD. For other
types of recording, if the Smart Space function is
on and there is no sound input for about 3 seconds
or more (but less than about 30 seconds) while
recording, the MD deck replaces this silence with
a blank of about 3 seconds and continues
recording.

Aut o Cut :
When the Smart Space function is
on, if there is no sound input for about 30 seconds
or more, the MD deck replaces this silence with a
blank of about 3 seconds and enters recording
