We recommend removal of the cooler prior to transportation.

Intel LGA 2011 square ILM / LGA 2011(-3) square ILM

General

We recommend mounting the cooler outside the PC case.

The following parts are needed for this

1x be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 CPU cooler (1), 2x Intel mounting brackets (4), 4x LGA 2011(-3) square ILM spacer nuts (10), 4x M3x3 screws (8), 4x Intel hexagonal nut (11), 1x hexagonal spanner (12),1x thermal paste (13)

First screw the LGA 2011(-3) square ILM spacer nuts (10) onto the threads of the LGA 2011(-3) square ILM socket frame. Use the hexagonal spanner (12) for this.

Installation of the mounting brackets

Attach the two Intel mounting brackets (4) to the underside of the CPU cooler using the M3x3 screws (8).

Mounting the CPU cooler

First remove the protective foil from the underside of the cooler. Spread the thermal paste (13) on the surface of the CPU. The amount supplied is sufficient for one or two applications.

Connect the fan to the CPU fan connector on the motherboard.

Position the cooler on the CPU.

Place the Intel hexagonal nuts (11) over the LGA 2011(-3) square ILM spacer nuts (10) and progressively tighten these in a crosswise manner until firm using the hexagonal spanner (12).

Intel LGA 775 / 1366 / 1150 / 1151 / 1155 / 1156

General

With pre-mounted motherboards we recommend installing the cooler inside the PC case over the motherboard cutout.

The following parts are needed for this

1x be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 CPU cooler (1), 1x back plate (3), 2x Intel mounting brackets (4), 4x hexagonal nut with sleeve (5), 4x M3x15 screws (7), 4x M3x3 screws (8), 4x C profile spacers (9), 4x Intel hexagonal nut (11), 1x thermal paste (13)

Affixing the back plate

Position the back plate (3) horizontally on the rear side the motherboard. Then insert the M3x15 screws (7) through the drill holes situated on the rear side of the back plate.

Fasten the back plate on the front side of the motherboard using the C-profile spacers (9) by pressing these onto the notches in the M3x15 screws (7) until they click in.

Assembly of the mounting brackets

Insert the hexagonal nut with sleeve (5) from below through the Intel mounting bracket (4) and screw together from above with the Intel hexagonal nut (11). Use the hexagonal spanner (12) for this.

Installation of the mounting brackets

Attach the two Intel mounting brackets (4) to the underside of the CPU cooler using the M3x3 screws (8).

Mounting the CPU cooler

First remove the protective foil from the underside of the cooler. Spread the thermal paste (13) on the surface of the CPU. The amount supplied is sufficient for one or two applications.

Connect the fan to the CPU fan connector on the motherboard.

Position the cooler and attach the cooler by screwing together the M3x15 screws (7)

from the rear side of the motherboard with the hexagonal nuts with sleeve (5) attached to the cooler.

AMD 754 / 939 / 940 / AM2(+) / AM3(+) / FM1 / FM2(+)

General

With pre-mounted motherboards we recommend installing the cooler inside the PC case over the motherboard cutout.

The following parts are needed for this

1x be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 CPU cooler (1), 1x back plate (3), 2x AMD mounting brackets (6), 4x M3x15 screws (7), 4x M3x3 screws (8), 4x C profile spacers (9), 1x thermal paste (13)

Removal of the AMD retention module

Before you are able to install the CPU cooler, you must first remove the pre-assembled AMD retention module from the motherboard. To do this remove the four screws from around the socket.

Affixing the back plate

Position the back plate (3) vertically on the rear side of the motherboard. Then insert the M3x15 screws (7) through the drill holes situated on the rear side of the back plate.

Fasten the back plate on the front side of the motherboard using the C-profile spacers (9) by pressing these onto the notches in the M3x15 screws (7) until they click in.

Assembly of the mounting brackets

Attach the two AMD mounting brackets (6) to the underside of the CPU cooler using the M3x3 screws (8).

Mounting the CPU cooler

First remove the protective foil from the underside of the cooler. Spread the thermal paste (13) on the surface of the CPU. The amount supplied is sufficient for one or two applications.

Connect the fan to the CPU fan connector on the motherboard.

Position the cooler on the CPU and affix by screwing together the M3x15 screws (7) from the rear side of the motherboard

with the AMD mounting brackets (6) attached to the cooler.

For eligible products, parts and labor are warranted for the applicable warranty period from the date of purchase. The applicable warranty period varies by product model, and is identified in your user documentation, on the product package, or as listed below. Should any of these warranty periods differ, the longest specified warranty period will apply. Replaced products will be warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period or thirty days, whichever is longer.
