Choosing a Mounting Location

For best results, Northstar recommends flush-mounting the 1200
series display. This provides the cleanest, safest, and most profes-
sional looking installation.
Choose the mounting location carefully — before any drilling or
cutting takes place. Be sure to consider access to the controls,
wiring, etc. when selecting a location.
Here are a few helpful tips about where to mount your new
display. Choose a location that:
is a flat surface, so as not to stress the enclosure
is convenient, accessible, and within comfortable reach
gives you easy access to the front panel buttons
can be clearly seen from your normal vantage point
provides a reasonably direct path for cable routing
has minimal glare from windows or other bright objects
(even though the display has a high contrast, anti-reflective
LCD screen that's specially coated and readable in direct
sunlight, you'll want to make the screen as visible as
possible)
is well ventilated; poor ventilation may cause overheating,
resulting in potential backlighting problems
allows room for a vBox within four feet — if a vBox is to be
installed
Do not immerse the unit in water. The front of the display is
splash proof against dew and rain but is not to be immersed.
Water intrusion from the rear of the display, which is open for
ventilation, will cause failure of the display.
