Reversing gear, oil and filter change
The reverse gears are hydraulic and the lubrication
system is equipped with an oil filter and oil cooler.
The reverse gears to D4/D6:
HS45A Oil volume: 2.5 liters
HS63A Oil volume: 3.8 liters
HS63IV Oil volume: 4.3 liters
HS80A Oil volume: 5 liters
HS80IV Oil volume: 7 liters
HS80A-B Oil volume: 5.5 liters
HS80IV-B Oil volume: 7 liters
HS85A Oil volume: 5.5 liters
HS85IV Oil volume: 7 liters
NOTICE! The volumes that are specified exclude
hoses and the the oil cooler.
NOTICE! The illustration is generic; the design of the
reversing gear may differ.
Changing the oil

Clean around the oil filler and the filter so there is
no risk of dirt entering.

Remove the oil filter.

Drain/draw out the oil from the designated drain
location (the plug at the bottom or through the
dipstick or oil filter hole).

Lubricate the gasket surface on the new filter with
a thin coating of oil.

Install the new oil filter.

Fill with new oil. Use the dipstick to check the oil
level is correct.

Start the engine and run it at 1500 rpm for a few
minutes.

Stop the engine and check the oil level again.
9
Top up as necessary.
