The VTG message conveys the actual track made good (COG) and the speed relative to the ground
(SOG).
The $GPVTG frame:

Description
Track made good in degrees true, T = true
Track made good in degrees magnetic, M =
magnetic
Speed over the ground (SOG) in knots
Speed over the ground (SOG) in km/h, K = km/h
Checksum delimiter (asterisk)
The checksum field, two ASCII characters
