Safety and Maintenance instructions

  • Make sure that all electric connections and connection cables meet the pertaining regulations and are in conformity with the operating instructions.
  • Do not overload electrical outlets or extension cords, fire or electric shocks can be the result
  • Please contact an expert in case you have any doubts about the mode of operation, the safety or connecting the appliances.
  • Keep all parts away from young children's reach
  • Do not store this item on wet, very cold or warm places, this can damage the electronic circuit boards.
  • Avoid dropping or shocks, this can damage the electronic boards
  • Never replace damaged power cables yourself! In such a case, remove them from the net and take the devices to a workshop.
  • Repairs or opening of this item may only be performed by an authorised workshop.
  • Wireless systems are subject to interference from cordless phones, microwaves, and other wireless devices operating in the 2.4GHz range. Keep the system AT LEAST 10 ft away from the devices during installation and operation.

Maintenance
The devices are maintenance-free, so never open them. The guarantee becomes void when you open the appliance. Only clean the outside of the devices with a soft, dry cloth or a brush. Prior to cleaning, remove the devices from all voltage sources.

warningDo not use any carboxylic cleaning agents or petrol, alcohol or similar. These attack the surfaces of the devices. Besides, the vapors are hazardous to your health and explosive. Do not use any sharp edged tools, screw drivers, metal brushes or similar for cleaning.

GETTING STARTED

With the M12 it's simple to measure the power consumption of a connected device. The calculator indicates the relevant costs. 2 tariffs can be set. The start screen (1) appears automatically after plugging the device in a wall socket. The device is connected directly to the M12.

Setting the tariffs I and II

  • Press <MODE>, <ON TIME> and <STA/STP> simultaneously for 4 seconds.
  • The tariff screen (2) appears with the indication of the tariff (TAR I or TAR II).

  • Press the <MODE> key for 4 seconds to switch between TAR I and II (3).

  • Use the <STA/STP> key to go to the number that has to be changed (this number is flashing).
  • Use the <ON TIME> key to set the desired value.
  • With the <MODE> key you can set the tariff (e.g. 0.290 = 29 Eurocent per kWh).
  • Exit with the <MODE> key.

USING THE DISPLAY STATUS

  • By default the M12 operates in the display mode (4).

    The display indicates the recorded power and the cost per hour according to the chosen tariff. (If the consumed in power is 11.6W per hour then it costs 0.3 Eurocents according to TAR I)
  • Press the <MODE> key for 4 seconds to switch to the other tariff (5).

STATUS REGISTRATION

  • To activate the registration, the timer must be set.
  • Press the <MODE> key and the timer screen (6a) will appear.
  • REC time indicates that time runs continuously.
  • By pressing the <STA/STP> key measuring will be stopped or started.
  • Press the <ON TIME> key and the on-time screen appears (6b).
  • On time indicates that the clock is only running if power is consumed.
    STATUS REGISTRATION

In the registration status 4 different measurements are displayed. Switching between those 4 measurements is done by using the <MODE> key.

  1. Present Consumption
  • The consumption screen (7) appears and indicates the currently consumed power.

  • The minimum screen (8a) appears LO = minimum consumed power.
  1. Maximum Consumption
  • The maximum screen (8b) appears, HI = maximum consumed power.

4 Costs

  • The costs screen (9) indicates that during 49 minutes and 36 seconds real time (see on time) 23.8 Eurocent of energy was consumed according to tariff 1 (Refer. TAR I)

  • Press <MODE> key for 4 seconds to select another tariff.

RESET

By: pressing and holding MODE/STA/STP (2sec. simultaneously), the screen returns to the display mode.

All measured values are set to 0. The set tariffs will not be removed. These are stored in a fixed memory (EEPROM).

TOTAL RESET

Press <R>, <MODE>, <ON TIME> and <STA/STP> simultaneously for 4 seconds.
