PREPARING FOR INSTALLATION
Pick a cold water supply pipe located as close as possible to the appliance.
Close the main water shutoff valve. Open a faucet located near the
installation to relieve pressure in the line.
3A
POLYETHYLENE TUBE CONNECTION
Use 1/4 in. coupling union (F) (provided) to connect the water inlet to the
Polyethylene tubing (A). First slide the compression fitting (C) (provided)
into Polyethylene tubing. Insert one of the small brass tube stiffeners
(D) (provided) into the end of the line pressing it until the flare on the
stiffener touches the end of the plastic tubing. NOTE: A brass stiffener
(D) must be placed inside the end of the tube so it can be attached
via compression fitting (C) without being crushed and creating a leak.
Check to ensure that the tube is completely inserted into the union (F).
Tighten the fitting on the union (F) until Polyethylene tubing is secured in
place using adjustable wrench. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
Coil at least 8 ft. of tubing behind the refrigerator to allow the
refrigerator to be moved away from the wall for cleaning and servicing.
Run tubing to the cold water supply pipe.
