Most accidents can be avoided by observing the safety instructions. Use a suitable tractor Ensure that the tractor meets the listed minimum requirements of the machine.

Always work with a clean machine, remove any dirt before operation. Observe the information and technical data in the operation manual of your tractor.

A pressurized hydraulic system can trigger unforeseen movements at the machine and may cause serious damage or fatal injury.

  • Page 23 Tedder-rake combination HAYBOB 360 Operation First use only after instruction It is not allowed to operate the machine until distribution company employees, company representatives or manufacturer's employees have given instruction. If initial operation is performed without instruction, damage to the machine can be caused by operating errors and accidents can occur.
  • Page 24 Tedder-rake combination HAYBOB 360 Instructions in case of malfunctions In case of a malfunction, stop the machine immediately: • Switch off tractor hydraulics. • Switch off electrical systems. • Turn off tractor engine and. • Remove the ignition key. Perhaps the malfunction can be eliminated immediately, otherwise contact your dealer. Using a faulty machine can cause accidents or damage.

Therefore: • Prevent the tractor and machine from rolling away • Switch off tractor hydraulics. • Switch off electronic systems.
  • Page 26 Tedder-rake combination HAYBOB 360 Maintenance Observe the care and maintenance instructions Observe the prescribed intervals for maintenance, checks and inspections specified in this manual. If maintenance, checks and inspections are not complied with, damage to the machine or accidents can occur.
  • Page 27 Tedder-rake combination HAYBOB 360 Maximum hydraulic oil pressure 210 bar (3045 psi) The prescribed maximum hydraulic oil pressure of 210 bar (3045 psi) may never be exceeded. A higher hydraulic oil pressure can damage the machine. Searching for hydraulic oil leaks Never search for leaks by touching hydraulic hoses and hydraulic connections, even when your hands are protected with a protective skin cream or oil-resistant gloves.

The labels may not be removed. Keep all safety decals clean and legible. In case safety decals are damaged, perished or lost, order new decals as spare parts and affix them on the machine.

    Tedder-rake combination HAYBOB 360 $Hitching the machine 1. Coupling and uncoupling Safety Wear safety shoes During all work at the machine never bring your feet under the machine and always wear safety shoes. Wearing safety shoes prevents and decreases the risk of serious injuries.

    Tedder-rake combination HAYBOB 360 Preparing the tractor The tractor must be fitted with lower link stabilizers. for easier attachment and pitch angle adjustment, we recommend to use a hydraulic top link. In this case, an additional double acting outlet is required.

Only parts stored in their dedicated storage locations are alllowed to be transported at the machine. Riding on the machine is hazardous and strictly prohibited.

    Tedder-rake combination HAYBOB 360 2. Start position Place the machine in the start position, the start position is reached when: • The tractor engine is running idle • The machine is in the operation position • The 3-point hitch is raised.
  • Page 44 Tedder-rake combination HAYBOB 360 Adjustments for spreading and tedding To disengage the lever (1): - Lower the machine - Make a right-hand turn - Pull the lever down, using the cord from the tractor seat. - Put all tines (6) in tedding position.

    Tedder-rake combination HAYBOB 360 If the height of the wheels is altered, the top link (10) has to be readjusted! - Lower the machine completely - Drive a little forward, until the centre slot at front of the hitch frame appears clearly visible.
  • Page 46 Tedder-rake combination HAYBOB 360 - Pull the lever (1) down by the cord from the tractor seat. - Put all tines (6) in raking position. - Put the gearshift lever (7) in raking position. - Put the locking arm (3) in the centre hole.
  • Page 47 Tedder-rake combination HAYBOB 360 Depending on the circumstances one of the lower wheels (9) adjustment holes will have to be used for raking. Best results will often be obtained, when the right-hand wheel is adjusted in one or even two lower positions than the left-hand wheel (see arrows).

    Tedder-rake combination HAYBOB 360 $Optional equipment 1. General The optional equipment, includes accessories (fitted afterwards) and options (factory fitted). When ordering spare parts and accessories, always mention the machine identification numbers. Model identification plate, see page 8. Only use genuine (spare) parts and original accessories, because these parts are specially designed and thoroughly tested for the use at this machine.

    Tedder-rake combination HAYBOB 360 2. Equipment LH swath deflector To limit the tedding width at the left-hand side of the machine an extra deflector is available. Warning sign and light set The use of warning shields is compulsory by law in some countries.

    Tedder-rake combination HAYBOB 360 $Cleaning 1. Cleaning After every use of the machine empty and clean the machine off all accumulated crop and dirt. Cleaning can be done with a high pressure cleaner. Avoid bearings, seals, hydraulic parts and bolted joints from water permeation.

Dismantling and scrapping of the machine At the end of the machine's life, the various machine components must be disposed of or recycled in compliance with local regulations in force. - Make sure the machine is stable (parking stands, holders, slings, etc.) prior to carrying out any repair or maintenance - Before any repair or maintenance on a circuit including an accumulator, depressurize the circuit.

    Tedder-rake combination HAYBOB 360 $Maintenance 1. Safety Before leaving the tractor or before adjusting, maintaining or repairing the machine, disengage the PTO drive, turn off the engine, remove ignition key and wait until all moving parts have come to a complete stop and apply park brake.

Conditions for maintenance jobs Only carry out maintenance jobs if you have the required expertise and the suitable tools. The absence of technical knowledge or unsuitable tools can cause accidents or damages.

    Tedder-rake combination HAYBOB 360 2. Protection measures Additives in oil and lubricants may have harmful effects to health. Be always aware of the safety instructions, warnings and cautions mentioned at the original package of the oil and lubricants. Because an indication according to the danger order is not necessary, therefore pay attention to the instructions below.

Directions Direction specifications (left, right, front, rear) are always meant in relation to direction of travel.

General check After a few hours of a new or overhauled machine check that all nuts and bolts are tight. Special attention should be paid to those holding the tines and bolts securing the rotors, located under the top of the rotors.

Always use a good and adhesive multi-purpose grease when lubricating the machine and PTO shaft. Rotors - The top of each gearbox has a grease nipple, next to the height adjustment.

    Tedder-rake combination HAYBOB 360 7. Bolted connections Replace a missing or broken bolt or nut, always by a genuine part. Standard bolts and nuts may look the same, have different qualities properties. Non-genuine parts may change the properties of the machine, and may make the machine unsafe.

    Tedder-rake combination HAYBOB 360 8. PTO drive shaft Protective parts All protective parts of the PTO drive shaft have to be in a proper, undamaged condition. Replace defective parts. An unprotected PTO drive shaft or damaged protective parts can cause serious injuries.

    KUHN equipment from an authorized KUHN dealer, that such equipment is, at the time of delivery to such purchaser, free from defects in material and workmanship, and that such equipment is covered under this Limited Warranty providing the machine is used and serviced in accordance with the recommendations in the Operator's manual.

    Tedder-rake combination HAYBOB 360 $Appendix 1. Calculating the load on an axle When coupling a tool to the front and/or rear 3-point lift linkage, the maximum authorized payload must not be exceeded. The load on the tractor front axle must always represent 20 % of the tractor unladen weight.

In any case, we recommend to travel on public roads with empty hoppers and tanks.

On this machine, 8.8 is both standard and minimum quality used. If not indicated otherwise use this quality for determination of torque (in most cases the quality can be found on the head of the respective bolt).
