Quick Start

The following sections cover D135 communications.

Connect to external device via USB Cable

  1. Turn the D135 on.
  2. Connect the phone, tablet, or other external device to the D135 with the provided USB cable.
  3. In the POS app on the external device, input sale details and follow the app's prompts to set up payment.
  4. Insert, tap, or swipe the card when the POS app prompts for card reading on the D135 device.
  5. Input PIN or signature on the phone, tablet, or other external POS device.
  6. Finish the transaction.

Bluetooth® wireless technology Connection

  1. Turn the D135 on.
  2. Go to your phone, tablet, or other external device's settings and scan for the D135 signal. By default, the D135's device name is PAX D135_XXXX, with XXXX standing for the last 4 letters of the MAC address of the D135. Please note that the device name may be modified according to user requirements.
  3. Pair the mobile equipment with the D135. During the pairing, the external device may prompt for a confirmation passkey. In such cases, enter the passkey and click OK to confirm.
  4. In the POS app on the external device, input sale details and follow the app's prompts to set up payment.
  5. The POS app will prompt for reading card on the D135. Insert, swipe, or hold card up to device.
  6. Input PIN or signature on the phone, tablet, or other external POS device.
  7. Finish the transaction.

Instructions

The following sections cover basic operating instructions.

Switch the device on / off

Power on: Press and hold the power button until the device beeps, then release to power on the terminal.

Power off: Press and hold the power button. When four colored lights flash at the same time, the shutdown is complete and the power button can be released.

Pay attention to the track position of the magnetic stripe card. Make sure to swipe the card smoothly at a constant speed in the direction as shown in the figure.

Reading smart card

Inserting Smart Card

When inserting smart card into the smart card slot, the EMV chip must be facing up. In order to avoid any physical damage to the card or the smart card slot of the terminal, it is recommended to insert the card gently.

ICC Operation Process
Before inserting the IC card, please check inside and around the IC card slot. If there are any suspicious objects, please don't insert card and immediately report the issue to relevant staff.

Reading Contactless Card

As shown in the above figure, please place the contactless card within the sensing area on the front of the terminal to complete card swiping.

Battery Charging

Connecting the terminal to a phone, tablet, or external POS device with USB cable can charge the battery. For the first time, please charge the battery before using the terminal.

Power Indicator

The power indicator light shows the charge capacity while powering on the device.

  • When the green light is on: More than 20% power.
  • When the red light is on: Less than 20% power.
  • When the red light is flashing slowly: Insufficient power supply; the device will shut down automatically.

The power light also indicates whether the device is charging or fully charged when connected to an external power supply.

  • The red light is flashing slowly: It's charging.
  • The green light is on (no flashing): It's fully charged.

Status Indicator

The D135 comes with both hardware and software mechanisms that prevent the terminals from being opened and modified. If the D135 has been tampered with, the following lights will indicate that it not safe for use:

  • Blue indicator 1 and 4 are on: The machine is compromised at present.
  • Blue indicator 1, 2, 3 and 4 are all on: The machine has been tampered with in the past.

Terminal Installation and Usage Tips

  1. Do not damage the USB cable. If the USB cable is damaged, please do not continue to use it.
  2. Before connecting the USB cable to a power supply, such as a power adapter, please make sure that its supply voltage is appropriate for the terminal.
  3. Do not expose the terminal to direct sunshine, humidity, high temperatures, or dusty environmental conditions.
  4. Keep the terminal away from liquid materials.
  5. Do not plug any unknown material into any port of the terminal. This may cause serious damage to the terminal.
  6. If the terminal is malfunctioning, please contact professional POS technicians.
  7. Do not put the terminal in explosive or hazardous areas.
