Aeotec Bypass, ZW150 Manual

Aeotec by Aeon Labs Bypass.

Aeotec Bypass is a capacitive device and can only be used for Aeotec Nano Dimmer. When your Nano Dimmer connects LED lights or energy saving compact fluorescent lamps, the Bypass can prevent flickering of the LED light when dimming off the light and glowing of the turned off compact fluorescent lamp.

When the Nano Dimmer is installed by 2-wire system, you may need to connect a low power load (E.g. an LED light or compact fluorescent lamp within 4W) to be controlled.

In this case, the Nano Dimmer may not get enough power from the AC power supply, so a bypass can be added to act as a dummy load to help your Nano Dimmer get enough power from the power supply.

Familiarize yourself with your Bypass.

Install Bypass.

The main circuit breaker or fuse must be shut off during the Bypass installation.

1. Install the Bypass in parallel with the bulb load.
   
   
   1. Use the wire stripper or wire knife to peel off the insulated part and then expose the metal part of the Bulb's 2 connection wires.
      
      
   2. Connect the Bypass to the Bulb's 2 connection wires, as shown below:
      
      
   3. Use the insulation tape to wrap the connection points to avoid electric leakage or electric shock.
2. Install the Bypass on the Nano Dimmer's terminals.
   Note: this Bypass installation can only be used when your Nano Dimmer is installed by the 3-Wire system (as shown in diagram below).
   
   In 3-Wire system, the Bypass can be connected to the Nano Dimmer's "N" and "OUT" terminals directly if needed. As shown below:
