This wenglor product has to be used according to the following functional principle:
Reflex Sensors with Background Suppression
Reflex sensors with background suppression analyze the light reflected from objects. As these sensors work according to the principle of angular measurement, the color, shape and surface characteristics of the object have almost no influence on the detection range. Even dark objects can be reliably detected against a bright background. The output is switched as soon as an object passes the selected range.
Class Laser 2 (EN 60825-1)

During operation of the sensors, the corresponding electrical and mechanical regulations, as well as safety regulations must be observed. The sensor must be protected from mechanical impact.
Foreground Teach-In
Background Teach-In
Teach-In to Empty Space
In this case it is advisable to perform Teach-In at a distance of somewhat more than nominal sensing distance (150 mm). An object, such as a sheet of paper, is positioned approximately 160 mm in front of the Sensor to this end, and the Teach key is activated. The Sensor adjusts itself to a sensing distance of approximately 155 mm (Background-Teach-In).
Selecting a Teach-In Mode
Blinking | Normally closed/ Normally open | TEACH Modus |
1× | NO | Background Teach-In |
2× | Foreground Teach-In*
3× | Background Teach-In
4× | NC | Foreground Teach-In |
* preset configuration
Disabling
If the external Teach-In input is permanently set to +Ub, the sensor is protected against inadvertent misalignment.
External Teach-In
The sensor is equipped with an input for external Teach-In (pin 2). If a positive voltage pulse is applied to this input, sensing distance is adjusted automatically.
Additional Functions for activation via the interface: On-/Off-Delay
Either pull-in or release delay can be activated at the Sensor via the interface. Delay time can be adjusted. The A232 adapter box is required in order to be able to connect the Sensor to Demo software available at: www.wenglor.com
Attention!
The sensing distance can be set by pressing the Teach-In key. However, if a sharp object is used to this end, for example a needle or tweezers, damage to the rubber membrane which covers the key may result. A maximum pressing force of 20 N may not be exceeded.
