Cranex D Ceph beam alignment procedure (White Panel Unit Only)
This procedure is a quick guide that goes through the beam alignment
procedure. To make this easier, the tech should have the beam
alignment tool (Part # 203603) when performing the alignment.
Step#1: Be sure the main pan unit, ceph arm and head are level
before beginning.

  • Page 4 Cranex® D Site Ceph Beam Alignment (White Panel Version) Step #4: Remove the secondary collimator from the Ceph head by removing the lock bolts and unplugging the ribbon cable. Step #5: With the unit now in EPS mode and centered, make sure the display reads 85 kV, 10 mA and 2.00 seconds.

  • Page 6 Cranex® D Site Ceph Beam Alignment (White Panel Version) Step #7: If the beam is not within the lines horizontally, Loosen the Four Torx screws that hold the Ceph head onto the arm. Slide the head in or out until the beam is centered properly. Be sure to lock the screws down once the beam is aligned.
  • Page 7 Cranex® D Site Ceph Beam Alignment (White Panel Version) Step #8: If the beam is not touching the bottom line in the tool, loosen the Two bolts on the collimator that is in front of the tubehead and then adjust both alignment screws. Be sure to adjust these screws the same amount so the beam stays level.
  • Page 8 Cranex® D Site Ceph Beam Alignment (White Panel Version) Step #9: With the beam now centered, reattach the secondary collimator and ribbon cable. Step #10: With the unit still in EPS mode and the beam tool attached to the ceph sensor, take another exposure. The beam needs to fall on the entire Three inner vertical lines on the beam tool and also on the bottom line.

Loosen the screw on the belt cog wheel B. Insert a slotted screwdriver into the cog wheel end, while holding the belt turn the screw in the desired direction to get the secondary aligned properly.

If the beam is above or below the bottom horizontal line, loosen the Two mounting screws and then adjust the top screw. Tilt: D. If the beam is going in a diagonal direction, adjust the side screw to get the beam straight.
