7.3 Installing the turbocharger

Remove the cover from the oil connection.

Inspect the lifting gear.
u
Fasten a separate lifting gear to each of the two ribs on the bearing
u
casing provided for this purpose.
CAUTION
Oil orifices
There is an orifice for adjusting the oil pressure in each of the two oil
supply pipes of the bearing casing. When the cartridge group, the bear-
ing casing or the turbocharger-is being fitted to the engine, it must be
ensured that the orifices specified for the turbocharger are installed in
both oil supply pipes.
Check that the oil orifices have been correctly installed.

Fit the turbocharger to the engine.
u
Tighten the fixing screws at the foot in accordance with the engine
u
builder's instructions.
Fasten the gas, air and oil lines in accordance with the engine
u
builder's instructions.
Version with compressor wheel cooling system
Fit the air supply line (also see the chapter entitled Preliminary re-
u
marks / Layout and functioning).
Refit the parts of insulation which had been removed.
u
Plug in the cable connector on the speed sensor.
