Use Giant oil - P/N 01153 (20W-50 non-detergent motor oil) Crankcase oil should be changed after the first 50 hours of operation, then at regular intervals of 500 hours or less depending on operating conditions.

This step will ensure proper fit, at the same time protecting the pump nonmetal parts (i.e., the elastomers) from cutting and scoring.
