ASSEMBLY IMPORTANT: This unit is shipped without gasoline or oil in the engine. The engine switch is located on the engine. Turn it on when starting the engine and use it to turn off the engine. Meets ANSI Safety Standards Craftsman Tillers conform to the safety standard of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). - Page 10 OPERATION Fuel Cap Remove the fuel cap to add fuel. GAS AND OIL FILL-UP Oil Filler Cap/Dipstick NOTE: The engine is shipped without gasoline or oil in the engine. Running the engine with insufficient oil can cause serious engine damage and void the engine warranty. Oil Recommendations Before starting engine, fill with motor oil, capacity is 600 ml/20 oz.
- Page 11 OPERATION Adding Fuel USING YOUR TILLER WARNING Your tiller is designed for seed bed preparation, cultivating, furrowing, and mulching. An adult should fuel this engine. - Page 16 SERVICE & MAINTENANCE CAUTION Do not spray engine with water to clean because water could contaminate fuel. Using a garden hose or pressure washing equip- ment can also force water into the air cleaner or muffler opening. Water in the air cleaner will soak the paper element, and water that passes through the element or muffler can enter the cylinder, causing damage.
- Page 17 SERVICE & MAINTENANCE DEPTH STAKE ADJUSTMENT Loosen the lock nut shown in Figure 25. Unloop the belt from the pulleys. See Figure 26. The depth stake acts as a brake for the tiller and controls the depth and speed at which the machine will operate, Figure 24. Remove the Reassemble the new belt and tighten the lock nut.
