HEARING PROTECTION: The LRAD is provided with foam earplugs which afford the operator of
the LRAD enough hearing protection to allow for safe, continuous operation of the unit.
Avoid unintentional exposure of personnel to unsafe noise levels.
Improper operation may lead to temporary or permanent loss of hearing.
OPERATORS SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO LISTEN TO THE OUTPUT FROM THE FRONT OF THE
DEVICE! HEARING DAMAGE MAY RESULT FROM SUCH ACTION.
The LRAD-450XL sound projection is directional. Operators standing behind the unit hear only a
small fraction of the sound energy being transmitted. This can make the operator think the
LRAD-450XL is not producing the required output.
