Assembly Instructions for Mobile Aisle Mechanical Assist

Mobile Base Assembly:

1. Assemble the mobile aisle rectangular base with the Mobile End Wheels (MEW) front drive
and install the drive shafts as per the Mobile Base Assembly drawing shown in Figure 1
below.
2. Place the mobile base on the mobile track. Assemble shelving on the mobile base, as outlined
in the shelving assembly instructions, which are included in the Post Connector Package.

Mechanical Assist Assembly

1. Remove the tower cover from the Mechanical Assist that houses the chain, sprocket and
crank blocks. Note: The hub and steering wheel assembly are installed last.
2. Attach the Mechanical Assist to the mobile base MEW front drive sprocket on the
outside. Remove the two 5/16" locking nuts and washers from each side of the sprocket, as
shown in Figure 2. Place the Mechanical Assist with the slots at the bottom over the 5/16"

  • Page 4 11. Loosely secure the drive handle on to the drive spindle with the washer ring and socket head cap screw. Then, fasten the two socket cap screws into the two adjacent holes. Tighten all three cap screws. 12. Align the locking pin with the drive handle centre cap hole and press the cover until it snaps into place.
