Important advice for installation / configuration of your GATEWAY 500
Please read these advices first – before installation!
1. Configuration of the DIP switches on the GATEWAY 500 interfaces
Before shipping, we configured your GATEWAY 500 to „Porsche" – mode, depending on the car radio /
navigation system you choose with your order.
Please double check the GATEWAY 500 interface again before installation, whether the DIP switches are
in the correct position.

DIP-switch 2 and 3 are in the lower „OFF"

2. Installation of GATEWAY 500 in front of PCM / CD changer
The GATEWAY 500 interface shall be integrated into the optical MOST ring of Porsche Cayenne in front
of the PCM.
In all other compatible Porsche models with optical MOST BUS (Boxster, Cayman and 911), the
GATEWAY 500 interface must be integrated into the optical ring after the PCM / CDR unit and in front of
the CD changer, like shown in pic. 1, page 2 in the English installation guide (DENSION
The pictures 4b and 5 on page 3 might raise the impression, the GATEWAY 500 interface is meant to be
installed into the optical line-out cable after the CD-changer. This is not valid for Porsche systems; please
ignore picture 4b and 5 on p. 3 regarding the optical ring direction.
3. Configuration of the CD text display – GATEWAY 500
Amendatory explanation to the DENSION user manual (2. Configuration)
The GATEWAY 500 enables display of song and artist information (CD text) on the screen of the
navigation systems PCM. The CDR radio devices are not text capable.
In order to apply the full potential of the screening possibilities you have to proceed the following
configurations after installation of the GATEWAY 500.
