4. ASSEMBLY
Unpack the product and check contents. Should there be any damaged or missing parts contact your supplier immediately.
4.1.
COUPLINGS
Vibration may cause failure if a quick change coupling is connected directly to the needle scaler. To overcome this, connect a leader
hose to the air needle scaler. A quick change coupling may then be used to connect the leader hose to the air line recoil hose.
See figs 2 & 3.

4.2.
ATTACHING THE SCALING HEAD
4.2.1.
Turning clockwise screw the scaling head fully onto the body (fi g 4).
4.2.2.
Tighten the 3 grub screws, located equally around the scaling head, with a hex key wrench (not supplied).
4.3.
REMOVING THE SCALING HEAD
4.3.1.
To remove the scaling head follow section 4.2 but in reverse.

4.4.
AIR SUPPLY
WARNING! Ensure the air needle scaler trigger is not depressed before connecting to the air supply.
NOTE: The required air pressure is 90psi, with a minimum air flow of 2.8cfm.
WARNING! Ensure that the air supply is clean and does not exceed 90psi while operating the air needle scaler. Too high an air
pressure and unclean air will shorten the product life due to excessive wear, and may also be dangerous causing damage and/or
personal injury.
4.4.1.
Drain the air tank daily. Water in the air line will damage the air needle scaler.
4.4.2.
Clean the air inlet filter weekly. Recommended hook-up procedure is shown in fig.2.
4.4.3.
Line pressure should be increased to compensate for unusually long air hoses (over 8 metres). The minimum hose diameter should
be 1/4" I.D and the fittings must have the same inside dimensions.
4.4.4.
Keep the hose away from any heat source, oil and sharp edges. Check the hose for wear, and make certain that all connections are
tight and secure.
5. OPERATION
NOTE: Ensure all Safety Instructions in Section 1 are read and fully understood and carried out before use and save the
instructions and warnings for future reference.
WARNING! Determine a safe route for the air hose to the work area, allowing enough hose length to allow free movement whilst
operating the air needle scaler.
5.1.
Connect the air needle scaler to the air hose. See section 4.
5.2.
Firmly grip the air needle scaler with both hands. For best control, place one hand on the needle tube and the other on the
pistol handle.
5.3.
To start the air needle scaler, gently squeeze the trigger.
WARNING! Ensure that the needles are not touching the surface prior to starting.
WARNING! Keep hands away from needle area.
5.4.
Place the vibrating needles onto the surface residue.
5.5.
Slowly move the air needle scaler around the surface residue area to be removed.
5.6.
Maintain a light pressure on the air needle scaler when removing any surface residue.
DO NOT apply excess pressure. This may cause damage to the surface.
DO NOT allow the air needle scaler to free run for an extended period of time as this will shorten it's life.
5.7.
The air needle scaler air fl ow can also be regulated by the air fl ow valve located at the base of the handle (fi g 4).
5.8.
If the air needle scaler is unable to remove the residue after several attempts, do not continue. Use another method to remove
the residue.
5.9.
Disconnect the air needle scaler from the air supply after use, and store in a dry, safe, secure childproof location.
