IMPORTANT USER BACKUP INFORMATION
User Backup backs up all the information and files on your hard drive and stores
them in a separate partition on your hard drive.
During the initial User Backup (option 2 in the Recovery CD menu), the partitions on your
hard drive will be resized to accommodate the backup files to be created. As part of this
resizing process, you will see the following false error message.
Resizing partition...
Checking for lost clusters...
Error #1609: Lost clusters, clusters X – X
To fix this error you can:
S - Save lost clusters to a file
D - Delete lost clusters
C - Cancel the operation
Select one of the above operations (S/D/C): S
Please select either the (D)elete lost clusters or the (S)ave lost clusters to a file option.
Either of these options will correct the problem and the User Backup feature will continue
normally, creating a backup of the contents of your C: drive. If you choose to select
(C)ancel the operation, the lost cluster will be later detected and the backup feature will
fail. Please be assured that this is a false error and no data will be damaged in the process.
NOTE: If the lost clusters indicated are not equal (X = X), or if a lost cluster error occurs
at any other time than indicated here, it is not related to this issue and may require a
different solution.
