My scale shows it is connected to my Square Register as USB Scale. But the register does not respond to the scale when I place an item on the scale. The scale (6710u)and the Square Register are new.

Your Brecknell 67 U Series scale may not be responding to your Square Register for several reasons:

1. Unit Not Enabled – The scale may not be set to the correct weighing unit. Ensure the desired unit is enabled in the CONFG-UNITS settings.
2. Load Cell Damage – If the scale has been damaged, it may not function correctly. Check for stability issues or errors indicating load cell damage.
3. Calibration Issues – If the calibration values are incorrect, the scale may not transmit accurate weight data. Only authorized personnel should adjust calibration settings.
4. Software or Connection Issues – Ensure the scale is properly connected via USB or Serial communication and that the Square Register recognizes it.
5. Service Required – If the scale displays a service-required message, it may need repairs or maintenance.

Check these factors to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
