Maintain tools to ensure that they are in an adequate condition for safe use and optimum performance.

Wear suitable clothing to avoid snagging. Do not wear jewellery. Tie back long hair.

Account for all tools, parts and components being used. Do not leave these in or near the engine.

note: For stability the VS3847 must only be used in conjunction with a transmission jack with a minimum base size of 560mm x
570mm and a ram size of 30mm diameter.

3. operation
3.1. Fit the VS3847 fully onto the transmission jack ram and finger tighten the butterfly screws provided (fig.2).
3.2. Remove the hex bolts and the closing plate, fit the VS3847 around the suspension leg beneath the lower spring cup (fig.2).
3.3.
Refit the closing plate, refit and fully tighten the hex bolts (fig.1).
3.4. Raise the transmission jack to support the suspension strut.
3.5.
Remove the support by reversing the above operations.
