■ Engine Starting procedure Start the engine by following the procedures in the sequence listed below. (1) . Switch the fuel cock lever to the ON position. (2) For starting a cold engine, raise the choke lever. (3) Set the engine disengaging clutch lever to the ON position (vertical position).

Decompression lever It is located inboard of the left handle grip and is operated by the thumb. The lever ® is used to decom press the cylinder to facilitate crank ing of the engine for starting. It is also used to stop the engine. °...

■ Riding ° Acceleration, deceleration To accelerate, twist the right hand throttle grip gradually inward; for deceleration, twist outward. ° Pedal assist When riding with a heavy load, with a rear rider, or when climbing a steep grade, the cycling pedal may be used to assist the engine.

■ Stopping, parking o Braking When slowing down or stopping the motorcycle, apply the brake levers on both the right and left handle (right side is for the front and left is for the rear brakes) together uniformly. Hold down the decom pression lever to stop the engine.
TOOL KIT The tool kit ® is mounted under the seat at the right side of the fuel tank. Simple adjustments and parts replacement can be performed with the tool in this kit. The more difficult adjustments and repairs which are beyond the scope of the tool kit should be referred to the service dealer.
M A IN TEN A N CE SCHEDULE Periodic maintenance will not only keep your motorcycle in the peak of condition but will also assure extra long life. Perform the maintenance in accordance with the servicing schedule shown below. Further, refer to the succeeding section for the maintenance procedure.
M AINTENANCE PROCEDURE • SERVICING AND CHANGING ENGINE OIL ■ Engine oil Replenish the engine oil with quality oil of the proper grade and of the same type, do not dilute the oil by mixing gasoline or kerosene to the oil. ► REPLACING LIGHT BULBS When changing the light bulbs, always replace the bulb with that of the specified type and rating. ■ Stop/taillight replacement procedure. (1) Remove the two screws retaining the stop/taillight lens. (2) Press the bulb in and twist to the left, the bulb can be removed. (3) Replace with a good bulb.
