    Connecting your equipment Chapter 3: Connecting your equipment Determining the speakers’ application This unit permits you to build various surround systems, in accordance with the number of speakers you have. • Be sure to connect speakers to the front left and right channels (L and R). Choose one from Plans [A] or [B] below.

    Connecting your equipment Other speaker connection • Your favorite speaker connections can be selected even if you have fewer than 5.1 speakers. • When not connecting a subwoofer, connect speakers with low frequency reproduction capabilities to the front channel. (The subwoofer’s low frequency component is played from the front speakers, so the speakers could be damaged.)

    Basic Setup Chapter 4: Basic Setup Automatically setting up for surround sound (MCACC) The Auto Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration (MCACC) setup measures the acoustic characteristics of your listening area, taking into account ambient noise, speaker size and distance, and tests for both channel delay and channel level.

(Acoustic Calibration S.DELAY Some monitors have a slight delay when showing video, so (Sound Delay) the soundtrack will be slightly out of sync with the picture. By adding a bit of delay, you can adjust the sound to match the presentation of the video.

The audio delay time is set depending on the operational status of the display connected with an HDMI cable. The video delay time is automatically adjusted according to the audio delay time.
