    Important Do not place your C42 in the bathroom or other humid areas. Place your C42 corded base within reach of the AC power outlet and telephone wall jack. The socket-outlet should be installed near the equipment and should be easily accessible.
  • Page 11 Connecting the corded base and handset Plug the telephone line cord into the socket marked on the rear of the base. 2. Plug the AC power jack into the socket marked on the rear of the base and plug the AC adaptor into the AC power outlet. Switch on the AC power.
  • Page 12 Important Warning! Use only the approved rechargeable Ni-MH battery cells (2 x AAA Ni-MH 550mAh rechargeable batteries) supplied with your C42. Battery low warning flashes on the display and there is a warning beep every 2 minutes during a call, recharge the handset before using it again.

    Hands-free speakerphone To talk to the caller without holding the handset and for other people in the room to listen to the conversation over the loudspeaker, simply use the hands- free function. 3.5.1 Make a hands-free call Dial the number and then press K on the base, you will hear the call over the base loudspeaker.

    The handset is deregistered. Restore default settings You can restore your C42 to its default (original) settings. All the handsets that are registered to the base will be retained. Important Resetting your phone will restore all handset and base settings to its default settings but Redial, Calls lists and Phonebook numbers will be retained.

    Using your Answering Machine The phone can digitally record up to 25 minutes of messages.
