Composite air filter: When the filter check indicator comes on (once per 5 years)

Soak for approximately

Tie the bag to keep the water
from spilling out.
Important:
Do not soak the composite air filters unless

the filter check indicator comes on.
(Increasing the soaking frequency could
damage the filters.)
Do not disassemble the composite air filter.

Do not soak the filters in a washing machine.
●
(Doing so could damage the washing machine.)

the filter from the filter

Washing detergent

Rinse thoroughly with
clean water.
Shake off excess water.
Dry completely in sunlight.
Soak the filters in washing detergent
dissolved in cold water or warm water.
● Be sure to soak the filters in the bathroom or the
kitchen sink.
Do not use a strong alkaline detergent or scrub the
●
dust filters with a scrub brush.
(Doing so could deform or damage the filters.)
Remove the filter units (2) from the bottom
of the main unit, and use a vacuum cleaner
to clean away dirt from the surfaces of
the units. ( page 17)
Remove the composite air filters from each
filter unit. ( page 18)
Place the composite air filters (2) in a
thick-lined, 45L plastic bag.
The deodorizing filters do not need to be cleaned.

Do not put them in the plastic bag.
(Doing so will damage their performance.

Pour cold or warm water into the bag, add an
appropriate amount (read the directions on the
detergent) of washing detergent (liquid or powder),
mix until the detergent dissolves, and soak the
filters for approximately 30 minutes.
Carefully read the instructions and cautions

listed on the washing detergent bottle /
package.
Rinse with clean water.
Thoroughly rinse away the detergent.
●
If you do not rinse thoroughly,
an odor may remain on the filters.
Leave the filters in the bag so that the water
does not spill out. Carry the bag outside
(or a location where it is ok to dump the water),
and shake the excess water out of the filters.
Dry the filters thoroughly in sunlight, in an
area with good ventilation.
Approximately 2 days is required to dry the
●
filters in summer, and 3 days in winter.
Should be dry completely before install the
●
filter units in the main unit.
Install the deodorizing filters and composite
air filters into the filter frames. ( page 18)
Install the filter units in the main unit.

Insert the power plug, and press the composite
air filter reset switch. ( page 9)
