Accelerator Pedal Limit Switch

ACCELERATOR PEDAL LIMIT SWITCH

ACCELERATOR PEDAL LIMIT SWITCH REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the battery and spark plug wire.
2. Remove the screw (1) (Figure 19-37).

3. Remove the electrical component box cover (2).
4. Remove the two nuts (3) and washers (4).
5. Disconnect the wires from the accelerator pedal limit switch (5).
6. Remove the accelerator pedal limit switch.

ACCELERATOR PEDAL LIMIT SWITCH INSTALLATION

1. Connect the green wire to the common (COM) terminal.
2. Connect the pink wire to the normally closed (NC) terminal.
3. Install the two washers (4) and two nuts (3) (Figure 19-37, Page 19-30). Tighten the nuts to 5 in·lb (0.6 N·m).
See following CAUTION.
CAUTION
• Do not overtighten the retaining nuts. If the nuts are overtightened, limit switches could be damaged.
4. Press and release the accelerator pedal to make sure that both switches are being activated when the pedal
is released.
5. Install the electrical component box cover (2). Be sure to press down firmly all corners. Install the screw (1).
Tighten the screw to 18 in·lb (2 N·m).
6. Connect the battery and spark plug wire.
