INSTRUCCIONES DE USO
TD-4283 DEL DISPOSITIVO DE PUNCIÓN Y LANCETAS
El dispositivo de punción le permite recoger sangre capilar de las yemas de los dedos
(y Lugares Alternativos de Prueba, LAP) de manera fácil y practicamente sin dolor.

El dispositivo de punción le ofrece 6 niveles de profundidad de penetración en la piel:
Superficial
Piel suave o fina Piel intermedia
A mayor longitud de la línea del indicador, mayor será la profundidad de penetración de la lanceta.
ADVERTENCIA
Para reducir la posibilidad de infección:
Nunca comparta la lanceta o el dispositivo de punción.
►
Use siempre una lanceta nueva y estéril. Las lancetas son para un solo uso.
►
Evite loción de manos, aceites, suciedad o residuos al usar el dispositivo de
punción y las lancetas.
El uso de lancetas puede ser un peligro biológico potencial. Por favor,
deséchelas cuidadosamente siguiendo las regulaciones locales.
Uso del dispositivo de punción

1. Gire y tire del tapón del dispositivo
de punción.
3. Gire el disco protector de la lanceta
para quitarlo.
5. Sujetando el capuchón seleccione
la profundidad de penetración girando
la punta ajustable en cualquier
dirección hasta que la flecha señale el
punto de profundidad que desee.
Antes de recoger la gota de sangre:
Lave y seque sus manos antes de empezar.

► Seleccione el lugar de punción en el dedo.
►
Frote el lugar de punción durante 20 segundos antes de la punción.
► Limpie el lugar de punción usando algodón humedecido con alcohol al 70%
y deje secar.
7. Punción del dedo.
Presione firmemente el dispositivo de
punción en el lado inferior de su dedo.
Presione el botón de liberación para
pinchar la yema de su dedo, entonces
un clic nos indicará que la punción está
completada.
9. Retire la lanceta girando el tapón
protector. Deseche la lanceta usada
colocando el disco protector sobre una
superficie dura y presionando la punta
en el disco.
Lugares Alternativos de Prueba (LAP)

Las pruebas en lugares diferentes de las yemas de los dedos se conoce como lugar
alternativo de prueba (LAP). Por favor, lea la sección de Lugares Alternativos de
Prueba (LAP) de las instrucciones de uso antes de realizar una prueba LAP.
Sustituya el tapón del dispositivo de punción por el tapón transparente para
Lugares Alternativos de Prueba. Tire del deslizador hasta que oiga clic.
Cuando se pinche en la mano, antebrazo o brazo, evite las zonas con venas, que
sean evidentes, para prevenir el exceso de sangrado.
Limpieza
La lanceta es desechable y está destinada
para un solo uso. El dispositivo de punción es
reutilizable.
Para limpiar el dispositivo de punción use
jabón suave y agua. No sumerja el dispositivo
de punción bajo el agua. Desinfecte el tapón
del dispositivo sumergiéndolo en alcohol al
70% durante 10 minutos y después deje que
se seque al aire. NO lo coloque en el
lavavajillas ni use detergentes.

2. Inserte la lanceta en el porta lancetas
y presione firmemente hasta que esté
asegurada.

4. Coloque y gire de nuevo el tapón del
dispositivo de punción, como muestra la
figura, hasta que oiga un clic.
Cuando esté adecuadamente
bloqueado, el indicador de bloqueo
estará a la derecha.
Mantenga los dedos en el
cuerpo, NO en el tapón.
6. Tire del deslizador hasta que oiga
un clic. Verá que el interior del botón
de liberación cambia de color cuando
esté listo.
►Si no oye un clic, el dispositivo de
punción podría haberse bloqueado
al insertar la lanceta.
NOTA
8. Retire el dispositivo del lugar de
punción. Después retire la primera gota
de sangre con un algodón limpio.
Presione el lugar de punción para
obtener otra gota de sangre. Tenga
cuidado de NO aplastar la muestra de
sangre. Aplique la gota en la tira.
10. Deslice el eyector hacia delante
para extraer la lanceta usada. Desechar
la lanceta siguiendo las regulaciones
locales.
►Para la obtención de muestras de
sangre de lugares alternativos de
prueba (LAP) use el tapón transpa-
rente.
NOTA
Esta opción no está disponible para
todos los dispositivos. En las instruccio-
nes de uso del glucómetro verá si
puede realizar LAP con su dispositivo.

TD-4283 LANCING DEVICE AND LANCET
The Lancing Device allows you to collect your capillary blood from fingertip
(and alternative sites) easily and virtually pain free.

The Lancing Device offers you 6 depths of skin penetration:
Shallow
Soft or thin skin Average skin
The longer the length of the indicator line, the greater the depth of penetration.
WARNING
To reduce the chance of infection:
Never share a lancet or the lancing device.
►
Always use a new, sterile lancet. Lancets are for single use only.
► Avoid getting hand lotion, oils, dirt or debris in or on the lancets and the
lancing device.
The used lancet may potentially be biohazardous. Discard it according to your
local regulations.

1. Twist and pull off the cap of the
lancing device.
3. Twist the protective disk off
the lancet.
5. Holding the cap select on the depth
of penetration by turning the adjustable
tip in either direction so that the arrow
on the cap points to the desired depth.
Before collecting a drop of blood:
Wash and dry your hands before you start.

► Select the puncture site at the fingertip.
►
Rub the puncture site for about 20 seconds before penetration.
► Clean the site using cotton swab moistened with 70% alcohol and let it air
dry.
7. Lancing the finger
Press the lancing device's tip firmly
against the lower side of your fingertip.
Press the release button to prick your
finger, then a click indicates that the
puncture is complete.
9. Remove the lancet by twisting the
cap off first. Safely dispose of the used
lancet by placing the protective disk on
a hard surface, and pushing the
exposed tip into the disk.
Alternative Site Testing (AST)

Testing on sites other than the fingertip is referred to as alternative site testing
(AST). Please read the Alternative Site Testing section in your Owner's Manual
before you perform AST.
Substitute the lancing device cap with the clear cap for alternative site testing. Pull
the cocking control back until it clicks.
When lancing the forearm, upper arm, hand, thigh, or calf, avoid lancing the areas
with obvious veins in order to prevent excess bleeding.
Cleaning
The lancet is disposable and is intended for
single use only. The lancing device is
reusable.
To clean the lancing device, use a mild soap
and water to wipe clean the lancing device. DO
NOT rinse the device under water. Disinfect
the cap by placing it in 70% alcohol for 10
minutes and then allow it to air dry. Do NOT
place the device in a dishwasher or use
detergents.

2. Insert a lancet into the lancet holder
and push down firmly until it is fully
secured.

4. Replace and twist the cap to close
the lock as shown in the picture until
you hear the click.
When the lock is properly closed lock
indicator is in the extreme right position.
Hold your fingers on the
body NOT the cap.
6. Pull the cocking control back until it
clicks. You will see a color change
inside the release button when it is
ready.
►If it does not click, the device may
have been cocked when the lancet
was inserted.
NOTE
8. Remove the device from the
puncture site. After penetration, remove
the first drop of blood with a clean
cotton swab. Gently squeeze the
punctured area to obtain another drop
of blood. Be careful NOT to smear the
blood sample. Apply the blood to the
test strip.
10. Slide the ejector forward to remove
the used lancet. Dispose of the lancet
according to your local regulations.
►For collecting blood samples from
sites other than the fingertip, use the
clear cap.
NOTE
This option is not available for all
devices. Refer to the Intended Use in
your meter's Owner's Manual if you
can perform AST with your device.
