4 Power ON/OFF/HOLD
switch
Slide the power switch to the
ON/OFF side and hold it there
for at least 1 second to turn
the player's power on and off.
The hold (accidental operation
prevention) function is turned
on when the switch is slid to
the HOLD side.
Hold function
The hold function disables the
control buttons, so the currently
playing picture or sound is not
interrupted even if a control button
is pressed accidentally during
playback. "HOLD" appears on the
main unit's display window if a
control button is pressed while the
hold function is on.
Only the power button on the
remote control unit functions when
the hold function is on.

Use this to adjust the volume
of the speakers or head-
phones.
2 Audio/video input/output
selector switch (AV-IN/AV-
OUT) (PDV-LC10 only)
Select input or output accord-
ing to how you are using the
audio/video input/output jack
• Always set to the AV-OUT
side when you want to play
discs.

5 Power indicator
Off: The power is off.
Turn on the power using
the main unit's power
switch.
Red: The power is set to
the standby mode.
Turn on the power using
the power switch on the
main unit or the power
button on the remote
control unit.
Green: The power is on.

"AV-IN" appears on the main
unit's display window.
3 S-Video output jack (S-
VIDEO OUT)
To connect the player to a TV
equipped with an S-Video input
jack, connect the included S-
Video cable here. This jack is
S2-compatible.
4 Audio/video input/output
jack (AV-IN/OUT)
To connect the player to a TV,
connect the included AV cable
here. Select input or output
with the AV-IN/AV-OUT selector
switch 2.
