    Ytterbium Fiber Laser, Model YLR-200-AC General Safety Information Safety Conventions We use various words and symbols that are designed to call your attention to hazards or important information. These include: WARNING Refers to a potential personal hazard. It requires a procedure that, if not correctly followed, may result in bodily harm to you and/or others.

    Ytterbium Fiber Laser, Model YLR-200-AC Description The YLR-200-AC Ytterbium Fiber Laser was developed for use in industrial applications. This laser is compact and efficient allowing them to be replacing bulky and less efficient lasers. Main application are welding, cutting and brazing.

    CAUTION: The output of the YLR-200-AC delivers more than 200 Watts of optical power. Ensure that the end face of the laser optical output and the lenses in the optical head are not damaged, of specified quality and clean. Any dust on the output can burn and lead to a damage to the laser.

  • Page 20 Ytterbium Fiber Laser, Model YLR-200-AC RS-232 INTERFACE DESCRIPTION A three wire (RxD, TxD, GND) interface is used. Most computers are DTE (Data Terminal Equipment) devices. The laser is also a DTE device and therefore you must use a DTE-to-DTE interface cable. These cables are also called null-modem, modem-eliminator, or crossover cables.

Main Window The Main Window shows the Model of the Device, Output Power Status, Current Setpoint and the Temperature of the Laser.

    IPG shall, at its option, repair or replace any product that proves, in the reasonable opinion of IPG, to be defective in materials or workmanship during the warranty period. All products repaired or replaced under warranty are only warranted for the remaining un-expired period of time in the original warranty for the particular defective product.

The owner of the device may only use the driver software only with the product(s) identified by IPG Laser, and may make duplicate copies of the software solely for archival backup purposes. Any alterations of the driver software will void the warranty on the equipment provided by IPG Laser.

    IPG Laser’ standard examination charge in effect at the time and these costs shall be charged to the Buyer. All products returned to IPG Laser which are not accompanied by an itemized statement of defects, shall be returned to the Buyer at the Buyer’s expense and IPG Laser shall not carry out any evaluation of such products.

    Upon receipt of the laser, check all items against this list and contact IPG immediately if any of the items are missing or if any damage to the unit is evident. If any damage to the unit is evident or suspected, do not attempt to install or operate the laser in any case.
