Damage to the attached screen protector is not covered by the warranty. • You can see the touchscreen clearly even in strong outdoor sunlight by automatically adjusting the contrast range based on the surrounding environment.

Ensure that all the covers are properly aligned and tightly closed. • If the device is exposed to fresh water, dry it thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth. If the device is exposed to other liquids, such as salt water, swimming pool water, soapy water, oil, perfume, sunscreen, hand cleaner, or chemical products such as cosmetics, rinse it with fresh water and dry it thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth.

    • If the lower part of the device overheats, it could be because the connected USB cable is damaged. Replace the damaged USB cable with a new Samsung-approved one.

Use only Samsung-approved battery, charger, and cable specifically designed for your device. Incompatible battery, charger, and cable can cause serious injuries or damage to your device.
  • Page 18 Basics Plug the USB cable into the device’s multipurpose jack. Plug the USB power adaptor into an electric socket. After fully charging, disconnect the charger from the device. Then, unplug the charger from the electric socket. Do not remove the battery before removing the charger. This may damage the device.

    To view your device’s maximum memory card capacity, refer to the Samsung website. • Some memory cards may not be fully compatible with the device. Using an incompatible card may damage the device or the memory card, or corrupt the data stored in it.

    Doing so can cause data to be corrupted or lost or cause damage to the external storage or device. Samsung is not responsible for losses, including loss of data, resulting from the misuse of external storage devices.
  • Page 23 Basics Removing the protective case Twist the left edge of the case until the device protrudes from it, and then pull the device out from the case. Storing the S Pen Insert the S Pen into the left side of the protective case. Do not insert the S Pen backwards into the protective case.

    Basics Turning the device on and off Follow all posted warnings and directions from authorised personnel in areas where the use of wireless devices is restricted, such as aeroplanes and hospitals. Turning the device on Press and hold the Side key for a few seconds to turn on the device. When you turn on your device for the first time or after performing a data reset, follow the on-screen instructions to set up your device.

    Samsung account Your Samsung account is an integrated account service that allows you to use a variety of Samsung services provided by mobile devices, TVs, and the Samsung website. To check the list of services that can be used with your Samsung account, visit account.samsung.com.
  • Page 26 Finding your ID and resetting your password If you forget your Samsung account ID or password, tap Find ID or Reset password on the Samsung account sign-in screen. You can find your ID or reset your password after you enter the required information.

    Basics Controlling media playback Take control of music or video playback easily using the Media feature. You can also continue the playback on another device. Open the notification panel and tap Media. Tap the icons on the controller to control the playback. To continue the playback on another device, tap and select a device you want.

    When the screen is off, hover the S Pen over the screen and press the S Pen button. Write or draw a memo. To extend the page, tap To save the memo, tap Save. The memo will be saved to Samsung Notes → → Screen off memo.
  • Page 56 When you launch Bixby for the first time, the Bixby intro page will appear. You must select the language to use with Bixby, sign in to your Samsung account according to the on-screen instructions, and then agree to the terms and conditions.

    Apps and features Bixby Routines Bixby Routines is a service that runs the features you want to use as routines when their conditions are detected. For example, if you want to set the device to turn on the auto rotate feature whenever you play a video, add the video app you want as a condition and set the auto rotate feature as an action.

Alternatively, tap the condition or action you want to edit. • If you want to set the routine’s running condition to manual, tap Start button tapped.
