    Before Driving Seat Operation Adjusting the head restraint position Adjust the head restraint so that the centre is even with the top of the passenger's ears. Advanced Keyless Entry System The advanced keyless function allows you to lock/unlock the door, liftgate, and fuel-filler flap, or open the liftgate while carrying the key.
  • Page 6 Before Driving Locking, Unlocking with Touch Sensor, Door Handle By touching the sensing area of the touch sensor, various locking/unlocking operations can be done without taking the key out of a bag or pocket. When locking/unlocking with the transmitter carried, securely touch the sensing area of the touch sensor as follows.

  • Page 8 Before Driving Power Liftgate The power liftgate opens/closes electrically by operating the switches in the vehicle or the buttons on the keyless entry system transmitter. Operation using the transmitter When the power liftgate button on the transmitter is pressed and held for about 1 second or longer with all of the following conditions met, the hazard warning lights flash 2 times, a beep sound is activated, and the liftgate automatically opens/closes fully.
  • Page 9 Before Driving Outside Mirrors The ignition must be switched to ACC or ON position. To adjust: 1. Press the select switch for the outside mirror to be adjusted to turn on the indicator light. 2. Press the adjustment switch to adjust the angle of the outside mirror.
  • Page 10 Before Driving Rearview Mirror Rearview mirror adjustment Before driving, adjust the rearview mirror to centre on the scene through the rear window. Auto-dimming mirror The auto-dimming mirror automatically reduces the glare of headlights from vehicles at the rear when the ignition is switched ON. Operation of the Power Windows The window opens while the switch is pressed and it closes while the switch is pulled up with the ignition switched ON.

    When Driving Starting the Engine 1. Make sure the parking brake is on. 2. Continue to depress the brake pedal firmly until the engine has completely started. 3. (Manual transmission) Continue to depress the clutch pedal firmly until the engine has completely started. (Automatic transmission) Put the vehicle in park (P).
  • Page 12 When Driving Operation of i-stop Function The i-stop function automatically stops the engine when the vehicle is stopped at a traffic light or stuck in traffic, and then restarts the engine automatically to resume driving. The system provides improved fuel economy, reduced exhaust gas emissions, and eliminates idling noise while the engine is stopped.

The system detects the white (yellow) lines on the traffic lane using the forward sensing camera (FSC) and if it determines that the vehicle might be deviating from its lane, it notifies the driver by the LDWS.

The forward sensing camera (FSC) detects the white lines (yellow lines) of the vehicle lane in which the vehicle is travelling and if the system determines that the vehicle may deviate from its lane, it operates the electric power steering to assist the driver’s steering operation.
  • Page 34 When Driving Cruising & Traffic Support (CTS) The CTS is a system which consists of a headway control function and a steering assist function for reducing driver fatigue when driving on expressways or highways. The system performs headway control to maintain a constant distance between your vehicle and a vehicle ahead at a preset vehicle speed without you having to use the accelerator or brake pedal.
  • Page 35 When Driving Cruising & Traffic Support (CTS) WARNING For the purposes of safety, switch the CTS off when it is not being used. Leaving the CTS turned on when it is not in use is dangerous as it could operate unexpectedly, resulting in an accident. Do not use the CTS under the following conditions.

  • Page 41 When Driving Smart Brake Support [Rear] (SBS-R) WARNING Do not apply a strong force to a rear ultrasonic sensor and rear camera: When washing the vehicle, do not spray highly pressurised water against a rear ultrasonic sensor and rear camera, or rub it strongly. In addition, do not hit the rear bumper forcefully when loading and unloading cargo.
  • Page 42 When Driving Smart Brake Support [Rear Crossing] (SBS-RC) The SBS-RC is a system designed to assist the driver in avoiding collisions and to reduce damage in the event of a collision by applying the brakes if there is the possibility of collision with a vehicle approaching from the rear while you are reversing out of parking space.
