After a few second s, the printer load s the p ap er
autom atically, and then begins p rinting the self test.
A series of characters is p rinted .
Not e:
To temporarily stop the self test, press the Pa use button. To
resume the test, press the Pa use button again.
3. To end the self test, p ress the Pa use button to stop p rinting.
If paper rem ains in the p rinter, press the Loa d / Ejec t
bu tton to eject the p rinted p age. Then tu rn off the p rinter.

Do not turn off the printer while it is printing. A lways press
the Pa use button to stop printing, and the Loa d / Ejec t
button to eject the printed page before you turn off the printer.

Using Hex Dump Mode

If you are an experienced user or a p rogram m er, you can p rint
a hexad ecim al d um p to isolate com m u nication p roblem s
betw een the printer and your softw are program . In hex d um p
m od e, the printer prints all d ata it receives from the com pu ter
as hexad ecim al valu es.
To print a hex d um p , follow the steps below .
1. Make su re that A4 (210 297 m m , 8.3 11.7 inches) or
w id er p ap er (su ch as letter size paper) is load ed in the
p rinter.
2. To enter hex d u m p m od e, hold d ow n both the LF/ FF and
Loa d / Ejec t buttons w hile you press the Op era te bu tton
to tu rn on the printer.
