The reports comes back incomplete transmission, Line Busy. Does that mean the number I'm faxing to is busy or **** I sending it incorrectly to me?

To troubleshoot fax sending issues with the Canon TR4700 Series, follow these steps:

1. Check TX Start Speed: Errors occur more often at 4800 bps or 9600 bps. Set the TX start speed to 14400 bps or 33600 bps.
2. Poor Telephone Line Connection: If the connection is weak, reducing the transmission start speed may help. Adjust the speed in Fax settings > Adv. fax settings > Adv. communication.

These steps should help resolve fax sending problems.

To connect a telephone wire to the Canon TR4700 Series for faxing:

1. Turn off the printer.
2. Connect one end of the supplied telephone line cable to the LINE jack on the printer (marked "LINE").
3. Connect the other end to the telephone wall jack or the xDSL splitter.
4. If connecting a telephone to the printer, use the EXT jack on the printer (marked "EXT.") and connect the other end to the telephone.

Use the LINE port (bottom) for the main telephone line connection and the EXT port (top) for an external telephone.
