SAFphire Hardware Guide

CA409 Fault Relay Card

The CA409 card acts as a bus termination card for the SAFphire rack
backplane. As well, it provides a fault relay output, status LEDs for the
positive and negative power supplies, 2 bipolar analog diagnostic outputs
and one 15 volt logical diagnostic output.. There must be one CA409 card
per rack installed in the half height slot.

LEDS

The red status LED indicates the status of the fault relay. When on the
LED indicates that the fault relay is energized. The relay will de-energize
and the LED go out when downloading, or in the case of a hardware
failure that causes the block program to stop executing. This relay is
intended to be hard wired into an Emergency Stop circuit.
The green +15V LED indicates the status of the +15 Volt power supply.
The green -15V LED indicates the status of the +15 Volt power supply.
Normal operation is with all three LEDs ON.
