Do you have a question about the 2006 9-3 and is the answer not in the manual?

Questions and answers

My Saab 2006 9.3 has a manual on/off switch that was added by the previous owner. You turn the key to on position, you flip the switch on, and then you turn the key to the, you know, start position. I'm new to that whole setup, and so I accidentally turned the switch off first before turning the key off. Now the car won't start. How donI fix this?

To fix a Saab 2006 9-3 that won't start after turning off a manual on/off switch, follow these steps:

1. Check Fuses – Reset the fuses related to the ignition and steering system.
2. Inspect the Ignition Switch Module (ISM) – Ensure it is functioning properly and receiving power.
3. Verify Electronic Response – If interior electronics are unresponsive but remote locks work, there may be an issue with power distribution.
4. Check Starter Circuit – Ensure the IGN #1, IGN #2, and START outputs are properly connected if modifications were made.
5. Test the Fuel Pump Signal – Some engines require a wake-up signal to prime the fuel pump for starting.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, seeking assistance from a Saab dealer or a professional mechanic is recommended.

Notice: Don’t let anyone tell you that underinflation or overinflation is all right.
  • Page 258: How To Check

Car care If you’ll be driving at high speeds, speeds of 100 mph (160 km/h) or higher, where it is legal, set the cold inflation pressure to the maximum inflation pressure shown on the tire sidewall, or to 35 psi (244 kPa), which- ever is lower.

Flat spotting All tires get hot, especially on long journeys or when the car is driven hard. After the car has been parked with hot tires and the tires have cooled down, a flat spot can form in the tire, where it is in contact with the ground. The same can occur if the car has not been moved for a long time.
