6.5 2D/3D LOUDSPEAKER POSITION REMAPPING
About the remapping
The Loudspeaker remapping is one of Trinnov's patented technology, based on the
ability to calculate the acoustic field that is produced by a set of loudspeakers.
Its purpose is to reduce spatial distorsion caused by a wrong loudspeakers
positioning or to increase spatial resolution by using more speakers.
A typical application for the Loudspeaker reamapping is illustrated below.
Another typical application is to use a 7.1 speaker layout to reproduce a 5.1
soundtrack with an increased spatial accuracy.
Principle
The source system layout is the reference speaker positions, defined by the user-
defined input format. The target speaker layout is the real positions of the speakers,
localized during calibration with Trinnov's 3D measurement probe.
The remapping therefore relies on an accurate localisation of the speakers during
calibration.
Remapping mode can be enabled instantaneously within the Optimizer
Settings/Settings/Main Settings page.
