Replacing the Display
This document describes how to replace the display in your Dell Latitude
C400 computer. The display and the top cover of the computer are designed
to be removed and replaced as one unit.
CAUTION: Before performing the following procedures, read
"Safety and EMC Instructions: Portable Computers" in your
System Information

Removing the Display

NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist
grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such
as the back panel) on the computer.
Disconnect the computer and any attached devices from electrical

outlets.
Remove the battery from the computer.

Turn the computer over. Slide and hold the battery latch release while
sliding the battery straight out of the bay.
