Have a McGregor 1737 which was stored in a shed over winter we have owned the mower for two years and now when you start the mower the blades move very slowly and then once they are moving at the correct speed the motor is pouring out with smoke with a distinct smell that it is burning out

Slow-moving blades and smoke after winter storage could be caused by a blocked blade area, a blunt or damaged blade, or a motor issue. The blade may be obstructed by debris, or the motor could be defective, possibly due to worn carbon brushes. Also, if moisture entered the mower during storage, it could cause electrical issues leading to smoke. Always disconnect power and inspect for blockages or damage before use.
