Sound settings

You can use the Sound settings feature to
customise various settings, such as the:
• ringtone, volume, and type for incoming calls or
messages.
• sounds made when your call is connected or
when you press a key.
• quiet mode to which your phone switches to when
you hold down the
key in idle mode.
Incoming calls
(Menu 4.1)
This option allows you to set up the ringer for
incoming calls.
Note: If your SIM card supports ALS (Alternate Line
Service), you must first select the line you wish
to change.
The following options are available:
Each time you select a melody from the list, the
melody plays.
Default melodies: allows you to select one of the
predefined melodies.
My sounds: allows you to select a sound received
from other sources, such as WAP sites, EasyStudio
PC software, or received multimedia messages.
Ring volume: allows you to adjust the ring
volume. Use the Up and Down keys or the volume
keys on the left side of the phone. The more bars
you see, the louder the volume will be.

Alert type: lets you specify how you are informed
of incoming calls.
Melody: the phone plays the melody selected via
the Melody option. See above.
Vibration: the phone vibrates, but does not ring.
Vibration then melody: the phone first vibrates and
then plays the melody selected via the Melody
option. See above.
Light only: only the text notification appears; the
phone neither rings nor vibrates.
Messages

This option allows you to set up separate alert types
for incoming short and multimedia messages.

The following options are available:
Tone: lets you choose from many different tones.
Each time you select a tone from the list, the tone is
played.
Alert type: lets you specify how you are informed
of any incoming messages.
Light only: only the text notification appears; the
phone neither rings nor vibrates.
Tone: the phone plays the tone selected via the
Tone option. See above.
Vibration: the phone vibrates, but does not ring.
Vibration then tone: the phone first vibrates and
then plays the tone selected via the Tone option.
